How to share data and transfer airtime on MTN, Airtel and Glo
Updated
Quick answer
Dial *321# on MTN, Airtel, Glo or 9mobile. It is the NCC’s share code for every network: choose whether to share data or airtime, enter the number and the amount, then confirm.
Network transfers only work between two lines on the same network. To send to any network, buy the data or airtime for their number instead.
How to share data and airtime on MTN
Share data: dial *321# and choose data, or send it in one step with *312*number*amount#, where the amount is in MB. For example *312*08012345678*500# sends 500MB.
Transfer airtime: dial *321#, choose airtime, then transfer airtime, and follow the prompts. You need a transfer PIN. The default on MTN is 0000, and the menu lets you change it, which you should do before your first transfer.
How to share data and airtime on Airtel
Dial *321# and choose data or airtime, then enter the Airtel number and amount. Airtel asks for a transfer PIN; the default is 1234, and you can change it from the same menu.
How to share data and airtime on Glo
Share data: dial *321# and choose data.
Transfer airtime: dial *131*number*amount*PIN#. The default Glo transfer PIN is 00000.
How to send data or airtime to a different network
USSD transfers stay on one network, so an MTN line can’t share data with an Airtel line. Buy it for their number instead: on VTU Agent you can buy data or airtime for any number on any network, paid from your wallet.
- MTN data1GB for ₦414.40API price today
- Airtel data1.5GB for ₦486API price today
- Glo data1GB for ₦271.70API price today
Don’t know their network? AirShare sends airtime as a link, and the person who opens it picks their network.
If a code doesn’t work
Networks change their menus from time to time. If a direct code fails, dial *321# or *312# and follow the menu, which always shows the current options.
